I have a wall adjacent to a walk-in shower that the drywall is rotting at the bottom due to water dripping down the wall. The water is from reaching for the towel on the towel rack. Short of tiling the wall is there another solution like a clear paint to protect the wall?

After any repairs are made I would just use a quality primer with even better paint. My house is 8 years old and I’m always getting my wall wet the same way you are. And it still looks like new. Hence the good paint I used. Also, keep away from flat paint in a bathroom. Just saying.
