My question is, My wife wants to incorporate our buffet into the kitchen on one wall as cabinetry. I’m ok with that but we want to paint it. The piece has a veneer sheeting I think on it . I told her we pull that off sand it then paint . She says to just paint over the coating covering the bufffet. Who is right can it be painted over?

Yeah you would be in a world of sorrow if you pull the veneer off. I would just lightly sand and paint. But depending on what’s on it you may want to do a small area first to see if the paint will hold tight first.
