I do not see a transformer, 220v coming from panel to sunstat,
I noticed there was no light in front of the thermostat. THX.

Hi, I’m sorry I didn’t realize it was electric heat. Been doing nothing but dealing with fossil systems.
So, too much resistance from a heater could cause that. And or bad thermostat. In most cases you would change both, the thermostat and the baseboard. Also after disconnecting both, the thermostat and heater check all connections and wiring.
Why 100% it’s really hard to say for sure not being there.
